Demi and Emma Pressler-McHugh at Rowing Nationals, Penrith 2013.

>

2013 National Australian Rowing Championships for clubs and schools held at Penrith, NSW.

At the 2013 National Australian Rowing Championships for clubs and
schools held at Penrith NSW, 8 St Lukes Rowers attended in both club
and school events.
All St Luke's Rowers acquitted themselves with credible performances
in the various events.

Under 17 girls singles- Jacinta Phillips,
Under 17 boys singles and doubles-Tom and Alex Hellmuth and Rick Bennett,
Under 19 girls double-Mell Schmeider, Jacinta Phillips, Demi and Emma
Pressler-McHugh,
Under 19 men's single- Jordan Dragonoff,
Under 19 women's Single- Emma and Demi Pressler-McHugh and Mell Schmeider.

Making the B final in the under 17 men's club single event was Rick
Bennett. ( so top 16 in Australia)
Unfortunately the rules did not allow him to compete in the school
boys event along with Jordan Dragonoff.
In the under 19 club pair Demi and Emma Pressler-Mchugh fought out the
A final without medaling to come 7th in Australia.
In the schoolgirls single scull Demi performed very well to progress
to the semi finals with further racing yet to go.

More updates and photos as they come in.

Well Done and Congratulations to all our 8 Rowers.

We are all very proud of you.

School Surfing update from Phil Moller

Thanks to everyone who was there to kick off the first week of the summer comp.

I think conditions are starting to clean up fairly well now.

So, to avoid any confusion assume that school surfing will be on for the next two weeks.

If we have to pull the plug I will notify schools by 11.30 am Wednesday morning.

Please relay that message to the students particularly the Jnr girls who went to the Wide Bay trials and the Jnr boys as we are still looking for one more team member for the Wide Bay Team.

Wide Bay Secondary Cricket Trials - VERY IMPORTANT

WIDE BAY SECONDARY CRICKET TRIAL UPDATE (FROM Convenor - Gavin Gagen):

I believe we will be trialling this Friday 8 March.  There is no surface water and the pitches will roll up on Thursday.

Venue – One Mile Oval GYMPIE

Given that we will try to have a cricket trial this Friday, please note the following.

1.       The groundsman believes the pitches will  be OK.  A final decision on Wednesday.

2.       The outfield will be soggy and the groundsman is attempting to mow the 30 ring.  Students who are not bowling or batting can field in the ring and reduce the ball going into the outfield.

3.        There is no canteen for the day as it was flooded.  The Junior cricket association may sell snacks and drinks.  Students should be encouraged to bring their lunch box.

4.       I will run a sheet for salad rolls from the Gympie SHS Tuck Shop and I will collect coaches lunches and any student lunches at 12.00pm.

Chicken & Salad $5.50

Ham and Salad $5.00

Plain Salad $4.00

I am only offering salad rolls as hot food may sit while you conduct your trial.  Hence the LUNCHBOX message.

5.       There will be a Salad Roll & Drink for all staff so you might bring your own snack box.

See you Friday

Gavin Gagen
