Learn to Row

Learn to Row took to the water at Bucca on Saturday.

Thank you to parents for taking your children to Bucca and especially
to coaches and St Luke's students who give their time and expertise in
coaching, boat loading, unloading and transportation.
Learn to Row wouldn't happen without your assistance.

Thank you

ATHLETICS

Outstanding results for our athletes

At the recent Queensland Track and Field Championships, three senior students competed.

Matt Murry, Year 11, competed in his first championships in the 17 years High Jump. It was wonderful to see Matt competing against incredible competition, some of whom jumped over 2 metres.

Tom Leach, also Year 11, competed on the track in 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m. Although narrowly pipped for a medal in the 100m and 800m, Tom set a new championship record for T38 athletes in the 200m and 800m. Tom has been selected in the QLD team for the National All Schools Championships in Adelaide.

In her final year, Emily Gray, Year 12, elegantly leapt her way to 2nd in the 17 years High Jump. This was very exciting to watch, and it now allows Emily to also compete in the National All Schools Championships.

Congratulations Matt, Tom and Emily for your excellent sportsmanship and performances at the State Titles.

St Luke's and Wide Bay Team Manager

School State Championship Regatta Bucca

St Luke's Anglican School rowers came across a very strong field as to
be expected at a State Championship regatta. Many of our crews and single scullers made semi finals and finals where they rose to the challenge.
A huge thank you and pat on the back to our rowers for their sportsmanship and participation. Well done.
Pictured below are some of our medal recipients.

School State Rowing Regatta Bucca

In the Girls 8 event, 3 of our St Luke's rowers teamed up with Lourdes Hill to make an 8. Although the girls didn't make the final in this
event, they came together and rowed exceptionally well, had great fun
and made some new friends. The team rowed as 'Invitational'. A special thank you to the Gin Gin club for allowing us to utilise their 8 'The
Spirit of Theo' for this event.
