ATHLETICS
At the recent Queensland Track and Field Championships, three senior students competed.
Matt Murry, Year 11, competed in his first championships in the 17 years High Jump. It was wonderful to see Matt competing against incredible competition, some of whom jumped over 2 metres.
Tom Leach, also Year 11, competed on the track in 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m. Although narrowly pipped for a medal in the 100m and 800m, Tom set a new championship record for T38 athletes in the 200m and 800m. Tom has been selected in the QLD team for the National All Schools Championships in Adelaide.
In her final year, Emily Gray, Year 12, elegantly leapt her way to 2nd in the 17 years High Jump. This was very exciting to watch, and it now allows Emily to also compete in the National All Schools Championships.
Congratulations Matt, Tom and Emily for your excellent sportsmanship and performances at the State Titles.
