QISSN 2016 NEWS

Thankyou for sharing your interest in attending QISSN 2016. It is reassuring to know that we will have some healthy competition when we run the trials early in Term 1 next year.

Next year QISSN will be slightly different because it will be in the second week of our June/July holidays. The carnival will be held at CQU in Rockhampton and run from Sunday 26 June to Friday July 1. We are staying at the student residences on the CQU campus.

In order to pay for our nomination and a deposit for our accommodation we are running the tuckshop (a sausage sizzle) on Wednesday 25 Nov while the Volunteers Morning Tea is on. We will need workers to help collate the orders, pack the orders into the primary tuckshop baskets and serve the Middle and Senior School students at lunchtime. This is a huge job and we would be most appreciative of any help you can give during the day. It is a given that academic studies come first.....you must check with your supervising teacher and make sure you do not have any assessment on

If you have any questions about the BBQ or QISSN 2016 please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Deer or myself. If you would like to know more about QISSN this is the link to their website.

Talk soon,
Mrs Carty

RUGBY UNION INFO FROM TROY BRAUND

Hello Sports Heads and Others

I would appreciate if you could pass this on to any rugby-minded teachers and students in your school.  In the regular BDJRU season, U14s and U16s didn't get the chance for a proper hit out.  Hoping to give them an opportunity over a few weeks in term 4.

Key points:

-          U14s born 2001/2002; U16s born 1999/2000.

-          Training at Shalom College – Thursday afternoons from 3:30 – 4:30pm (anyone who is available to give a hand or take on a team is most welcome)

-          Aiming to kick off games on Friday of week 4 in term 4 (30 October) – Friday afternoons as a lead up to Senior games in the Spring Cup.

-          This is NOT a school competition.  Parents will need to sign BDJRU registration form (some players may have already signed these in the regular season)

If you have any queries, please contact either Jeff (0459 203 596) or myself (0421 436 227).

Regards

Troy Braund.
