ROWING - 2016 Queensland Schools Championship Regatta

St Luke's Rowing Parents and Supporters,

On the 17th - 19th of September the 2016 Queensland Schools Championship Regatta will be held at the Bucca Rowing centre. This is a change of plan as it was originally scheduled for Rockhampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for our rowers to compete/participate in a high level regatta with no travel or accommodation cost. This would be invaluable experience for all rowers regardless of ability levels and rowers would get further value for money out of their Bundaberg Rowing Club fees.

Nominations for this event will close on the 7th of September, so we still have plenty of time to sort ourselves out. As part of our initial preparations, I am proposing a get together for all rowers and parents and coaches at the Bucca Rowing Centre on the 13th of August (8am - 10am ish???).

As the regatta is now at Bucca, there will be plenty of jobs for volunteers and it would be great if we could get as many St Luke's parents as possible to support the event.

On another note, I hope the ticket sales are going strongly. I know many of you have been charging with this and have been in contact with Julie about getting extra booklets. Every bit of your efforts with this is very worth while. If you can please drop you ticket sales - Sold/unsold into the office by Friday 12th August we can gauge sales. You will be able to get more tickets to sell but we need to assess how well things are going.

We are also looking for a couple of volunteers that might be able to sell tickets this Thursday at the Primary Schools jumps day held here at St Luke's. Any amount of time you might have to spare would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you can help out.
