Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian

Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian

Recently, 9 talented riders (and their horses!) represented St Luke’s at the Fraser Coast Interschool Equestrian Competition, held at the Maryborough Equestrian Centre. Myles Holt, Arielle Yunus, Lorelei Bertoli, Isabelle Holt, Suzette Holt, Mitchell Holt, Tom Collyer, Kael Yunus and Amy Collyer made the school proud as they participated in a variety of events from show jumping to hacking. The performance of the St Luke’s team was exceptional, as they placed 2^nd overall out of approximately 50 schools! Congratulations!

Special congratulations to Isabelle Holt (Year 5 Champion), Suzette Holt (Year 7 champion) and Mitchell Holt (Year 8 Reserve Champion). There were plenty of personal best performances and ribbons to go around.

Equestrian is a sport that requires a huge commitment. Results aside, students are to be congratulated for the care, effort and time that they put into preparing for the event and during the event itself. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and the students’ work ethic is to be commended. Well done, everyone.

Finally, the students could not have participated in this event without the support of their parents. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Holt, Mr and Mrs Yunus, Mr and Mrs Bertoli and Mr and Mrs Collyer for everything that they did (and continue to do!) to support the students.

If you are keen to join the equestrian team – keep an eye on the notices! There will be a few meetings over the coming weeks to get together and look at the interschool events calendar for 2017.

Entries for the 2016 Triathlon Queensland All Schools will open at 3:00pm this afternoon (26/08/2015).

Athletes MUST enter online to be entered into the event- in past years we have had athletes who have only let their school delegate know they are entering. When you send information out to athletes ensure they ENTER ONLINE THROUGH TRIATHLON QUEENSLAND. Link Below

If at any point they are unsure if they have entered they are more than welcome to call the office (3369 9600) and I can confirm their registration, however they should receive a confirmation e-mail from the registration system. 

Entries close on Sunday the 30^th  of October at 11:59pm.  

On the Wednesday (2^nd November) before the event I will be sending out an e-mail to the RSO's with the athletes who have entered in their region- if you wish to know the majority of entrants please contact me by Friday the 28^th  of October and I can organise a snap shot of your athletes to help ensure they have entered.
