BDSSS Cross Country report from Lateisha Stam...SLAS Sport Journalist.

In the third week of Term 2, 64 St Luke's students travelled to Gin Gin to compete for the school in the Bundaberg District Secondary School Sport Cross Country carnival. To say the team succeeded would be an understatement. All three trophies up for grabs that day were claimed by the St Luke's Cross Country team. These trophies included the Senior and Junior trophies as well as the Percentage Points trophy. One of our cross country captains, Jaymee Ericson, reflected on the teams performance saying, "It was yet another successful year with St Luke's claiming all three trophies. A massive congratulations to the following age champions; Jordan Smith, Jaime Kruger, Charles Liebenberg, myself, Kate Crook and Rebecca Greiner. Thank you to the 64 students who represented St Luke's and to Mr Robinson and Mrs Higgins for organising our team."
It was an impressive start to the year considering that out of 12 age champion positions our runners filled half of the spots.
Our other Captain of Cross Country, Mitchell Laughlin commented on the day saying, " The team performed well, everyone ran hard and did their best. Special congratulations to the age champions, and anyone who made the Bundaberg team."
Everyone who competed is a credit to the school. The three trophies is an outstanding achievement.

Additionally, a week earlier our Teams Cross Country squad took out the Teams Cross Country Carnival making it 4 trophies from 4.

On Wednesday, the Primary school runners compete in their district carnival. Congratulations to all competitors and good luck to the students competing in the primary school carnival.
